Echoes of freedom
His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins.
Proverbs 5:22
Our own sins take us to places we never thought we would go. It takes us deeper and deeper into sin, it becomes our master and very quickly we find ourselves slaves to it. It captures us with its allure of pleasure and power, it draws us in until one day we wake up and realize how far we've fallen. We suddenly remeber what we've done how we got where we are and we realize we are trapped, that we can't escape. We realize that our own sins have shackled us, chained us down without hope of escape. But still it draws us deeper, deeper until at last we die in our sin and it was the chains that we ourselves created for us that dragged us down. Sin binds us so tightly and we don't even realize that it does, and every time we sin another link appears on the chains that bind us, binding us even tighter than before. But.......it does not have to be that way.
For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin unto death.
Romans 8:2
Too many times do we as Christians get bound by our sins. Too many times do we let the chains of sin bind us and weigh us down. We are free. Free from sin and free from the chains that bind us. Christ Jesus took all our chains away when he died, not only did he take all of them away but he bore them for three days. Every weight of sin was laid upon his back, every chains, every link was put on him. And all those chains were such a weight that he died when they were placed on his back. His flesh died and his spirit for three days wrestled with our chains. He was bound in our iniquities, he suffered under the weight of our sins. His spirit was bound in chains, so much so that for three days the Godhead was incomplete as the spirit of God's only son, wrapped in chains wrestled in hell with our iniquities. But the spirit won. He won. On the third day of his wrestling with all the chains in the world, he cast them into the lake of fire. All the chains of sin in the world were burned on that day. The flesh was conquered by the spirit as the son of God, who's flesh had died and who's spirit was chained, SHATTERED the chains of sin and death. A new law was written in heaven, the law of the spirit, which made void the law of sin and death. Sin and death are no more and WE ARE FREE!!! But satan does not want us to be free, and as the father of lies he whispers into our ears that our chains remain, that sin still has power. But the truth is Christ, and Christ broke every chain. His spirit, the Holy Spirit, which broke every chain lives and abides in those who believe, so we can be free. Because death was beaten when Christ rose, and sin was shattered when he burst from the grave.
Hear the echoes of our freedom, remeber the truth and ignore satans lies. We are free and no power can change that.
2 Corinthians 3:17-18
Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
